High-Definition Surveying (HDS)

High Definition Surveying, or HDS, is a combination of Terrestrial based laser scanning, computer technology and often high precision control networks. Instead of surveying one point at a time on single line, we can collect thousands of points per second with a very high degree of accuracy.High Definition Surveying, or HDS, is a combination of Terrestrial based laser scanning, computer technology and often high precision control networks. Instead of surveying one point at a time on single line, we can collect thousands of points per second with a very high degree of accuracy.

Using HDS as your preferred surveying approach brings 2 primary advantages. First is safety, as HDS allows field personnel to maintain safe distances from structures or sites without sacrificing the accuracy of data being collected. Another advantage of using HDS is the crisp and complete details that it provides. This technology lets users store a “physical reality” onto their computers, giving engineers and designers quick access to critical data that are necessary in accomplishing architectural or geographical projects. Remote sensing is a method of recording/observing/perceiving about an object or an event without having direct contact with it. In remote sensing, reflected energy by objects which could be visible or non-visible is captured and recorded by a device not directly in contact with the object. A simple example of remote sensing is taking a photograph. Different materials reflect energy in different ways giving them unique spectral signatures. Below is an illustration of how remote sensing works:

Images from remote sensing form in digital images are mainly composed of rows and columns which contain data recorded by the sensing device. Image processing can de done to extract information for specific purposes; with image classification as the most commonly used technique.

Results from image classification are mostly thematic maps (e.g. land cover maps, thermal maps). Depending on the scale and purpose of mapping, remotely sensed images are available in different spatial and spectral resolutions.

Certeza can provide the most recent and advanced remotely sensed data ranging from optical to non-optical (radar) in different resolutions and spectral modes. Certeza offers the following data:
