Sunshield Polycarbonate Sheets
SUNSHIELD Polycarbonate Sheets are transparent sheets made of Polycarbonate material. For this, products possess superior qualities and advantages such as their being lighter, tougher, and more flexible than glass, acrylic, or PVC sheets.
The products are also Ultraviolet (UV)-proof. This is because a high density 12% UV-absorbing agent has been evenly coated on the surface of the sheets via extrusion process. For these and other proven qualities and properties, SUNSHIELD products meet international CNS Quality Standards.
General Features & Benefits
Durable
- High weather resistance. The material is so tough that it withstands adverse or the most extreme weather conditions - whether under hot tropical heat, or cold weather and thunderstorms. Sheets have superior protection against the deteriorating effect of UV radiation and does not discolor or become brittle.
- Virtually unbreakable. Its exceptional strength makes it virtually unbreakable and reduces the risk of consequential damage, thus increasing safety levels wherever it is installed.
- High impact resistance. Able to stand extreme abuse, its impact strength is 200 times greater than glass and 10 times greater than acrylic.
Superior Fire Resistance (Self-extinguishing)
Sheets are made of material that withstands high temperatures. To date it has received high ratings in major fire endurance tests. Even under extreme heat, it has been seen to be a non- catalyst to combustion or non-contributing to the growth of a fire through flame spread. Its V2 fire material contributes to its self-extinguishing feature.
Excellent Light Transmission
SUNSHIELD Polycarbonate provides the crystal clarity associated with glass without the heavy weight, high cost and risk of breakage. Sheets have excellent light transmission approximately 50% to 92% - depending upon the thickness.

Strong and extremely light SUNSHIELD PC sheets are safe and easy to handle. A sheet is 1/6 lighter than glass, 1/3 lighter than acrylic.
Rigid but Flexible
Sheets are rigid but can be cold curved, subject to the minimum-bending radius being complied with by the manufacturer. These can be cut to sizes using conventional workshop tools and can be fitted into most existing glazing bars and frames.
